Facesaerch.com (yes, it’s actually spelled that way) is a fun image search engine for faces.  This application really doesn’t have any useful purpose, except for a fun little time waster. But… it’s a Saturday morning, so I thought I would include something a little less serious and more fun.

Facesaerch is a very simple search that queries the Google Image Search api to gather images of faces based on your entry.  So, let’s say you’re a stalker big fan of Angelina Jolie (see screenhot) you can quickly scroll through a portrait gallery of her pictures.

The user interface of facesaerch is probably what makes this application unique and fun.  The gallery works similar the iTunes scrolling album gallery, in that it is a left to right scrolling gallery with a black background.

Aside from the search capabilities, Facesaerch also provides a few widgets an RSS feeds to incorporate a search into your site.  So, if you have a Facebook, myspace, or even operate a fan site, you can add the scrolling facial gallery as a widget.

As with most people, the first thing I did was a search for “Troy Peterson”… unfortunately, it didn’t bring anything back for my name.  But it does bring back some good results for celebrities and other famous people.

hi, thx for the coverage even if i would dispute that having a different point of view (like a nifty coverflow point of view of your blog http://www.facesaerch.com/facesearch/?q=http%3A%2F%2Ffeeds.feedburner.com%2FAddoursearchcomfeaturedsites ) is never useless.

i will provide a guideline on how to optimzes faces for google soon, so that finally everybody will find his or her faces…

    Hi Franz,
Thanks for the comment… I checked out the RSS feed link you have here and I’m rather impressed.
I went through the different options and didn’t notice this feature.

This looks like it would be extremely useful for photo blogs and other image based conversations.

    Thanks for the comment!
    Troy
