Facesaerch.com (yes, it’s actually spelled that way) is a fun image search engine for faces.  This application really doesn’t have any useful purpose, except for a fun little time waster. But… it’s a Saturday morning, so I thought I would include something a little less serious and more fun.

Facesaerch is a very simple search that queries the Google Image Search api to gather images of faces based on your entry.  So, let’s say you’re a stalker big fan of Angelina Jolie (see screenhot) you can quickly scroll through a portrait gallery of her pictures.

Whether you’re into Halo 3 on the Xbox 360 or prefer the old school Nintendo and Atari systems, you can find all your news about the gaming industry at Blast3r.com.

Since gaming is a computer (or console) based industry, there are thousands of sites with information about video games.  What Blast3r does is index most of those sites into one location, so you don’t have to subscribe to multiple sites to stay up to speed.

Like most of the Loud3r sites, Blast3r organizes the gaming industry by topics, each with it’s own RSS feed to focus your information on one specific area.  Their topics page has a very VERY long list of categories and sub-categories to browse through. (see the full list below) More »

The first in the Loud3r series is one after my own heart… Fast3r.com.  Fast3r.com is a search engine and news aggregation site dedicated to Motorcycles. Fast3r has indexed quite an extensive collection of topics and subtopics around the motorcycle industry and culture.  Everything from people and Race Tracks to products and motorcycle brands, if it has to do with Motorcycles you’ll probably find it here. Instructables.com provides user contributed instructions for making gadgets and gizmos out of almost anything you can find around the house or at the local RadioShack.  The site has a extensive collection of projects ranging from food recipes to high tech tools and gadgets.

One of the definite advantages of the site is the step-by-step instructions available to visitors.  Most projects will typically include a list of materials needed along with construction photos that walk you through the process.  Now I say “most” because after all, it is a user contributed site, so some projects have better instructions than others. The site does have a good rating system, so you can typically weed out the good from the bad.

Essentially, the name says it all… Ask a question and the service will allow 500 people to answer the question before it’s complete.  Since most of the posts are made public, it can be used as a public opinion poll in real time.  So, you can see answers to questions as they come in and also see the location from where they were voting from.

I have to admit, this is one of my favorite time wasting sites on the web right now.  Granted, it can be used for some very valuable information and polling, but you can also spend hours just sitting there searching for different questions and watching the answers come in.

BooRah.com - Find Restaurants and Reviews From Your Browser.

There are literally thousands of restaurant review sites out there, many of which have the same “standard” features; reviews, menus, locations, recommendations, etc.  What sets BooRah.com apart from rest is that it searches through blogs, critic review sites, and consumer sites with a patent-pending natural language processing technology to find and summarize the most relevant reviews.  In other words, it reads the vibe on the web about a restaurant and shows you the best summary available.

Now BooRah.com currently has official reviews for a few major cities in the United States.  But, after doing a quick search for “Tacos” in my area (Duluth, Mn) it still returned some decent results; A few chain restaurants and local joints as well.  Basically the same results you’d find in the phone book.
