Woof3r.com - A Search Engine for the Dog Lover

Woof3r.com is a search engine dedicated to dog lovers everywhere. Whether you’re into the dainty, fit in your purse Chihuahua or a drag you down the street after a squirrel Rottweiler, this is the site for you. At first you might think; Why would you make a search engine dedicated to dogs? Well, if you think about it, dogs are a large part of the many of our lives. They’re our friends, our family, and in some cases our lifeline. So, in that sense… it makes sense.
One of the key features of the site is the ability to track and follow news stories by Breed. In the Topics section of the site, you’ll find all the breeds you’ve heard of and probably many that you haven’t. As with all Loud3r sites, each topic and sub-topic has it’s own dedicated RSS feed. That way you can get updates on your breed as new stories emerge.
Woof3r also offers different community tools to connect you with other like minded individuals on the site. You can share stories you’ve read, read stories others have read, share you comments with others and in turn read comments others have written. Since many people are rather partial to one breed or another, this can be a nice way to interact and share content with other people in your community.
One thing I would like to see is an expansion of the topics section to include different activities. For example, I have a mutt named Miles. Since he’s part Black Lab and part something else, he doesn’t really fit into any of the topics listed. However, Miles and I love to go bird hunting together. Well, actually… I try to hunt while he runs around like an idiot just happy to be off the leash. But, it would be nice to get updates on that type of activity.
Now, this is a rather specific search engine that might not be as useful to some people, but I thought it was interesting enough to highlight here.
