GiantBomb.com - Game On!
If you’re big into video games or just like them, you might want to check out GiantBomb.com. GiantBomb is an online encyclopedia of everything in or around video games. This is a massive site that includes game reviews, news, characters, and items… pretty much anything you can think of that involves video games.
Now, I’m not a HUGE gaming geek connoisseur like some people I know, but I do enjoy the occasional game here and there. However, I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed browsing through this site. There’s a lot of tools and options that I have never thought of, but really make sense in this context. Case in point is the “locations” link under Browse in the main menu. This is a cool little feature that allows you to browse through games based on location. Meaning, you can find games that are set in space or in Japan.
It’s also the little things that make this site interesting and give it character (no pun intended). An unexpected surprise I found while trying to research this post was the Help page. If you get a chance, I suggest you pop over there for a good and humerus read. The main headline on this page is “Help us build this GIANT BOMB… wait, that came out wrong”.
GiantBomb.com is a new player in a very crowded field, so it will be interesting to see how they fair against the competition. But, it looks like they’re off to a good start.
